154 – District of Residence Cannot Be the Same as the Reporting District for Contracting In Students or Optioning In Students

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

If a student is optioning in or contracting into a district, the District of Residence cannot be the reporting district. Please correct either the District of Residence or the Residency Status in the student enrollment record.

DETAILS

The student can not be optioning or contracting into the school district where they are a resident. The student’s Residency Status is reporting the student as optioning in or contracting into the same district as the District of Residence in the student enrollment record.

Note: The definitions of Residency Status and District of Residence can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements on the ADVISER Resource website.

FIX

If the student is a resident of the district with the error, update the Residency Status to “00 (Not Applicable)” in the SIS student enrollment record and then sent into ADVISER.

If the student is optioning or contracting in to the district with the error, update the District of Residence in the SIS to the student’s actual resident district code and then sent into ADVISER.

Note: District codes can be found on the ADVISER Resource website in the District/School Codes section.
