500 – Student Reported as English Learner in the Previous Year Not English Learner in Current Year, or marked as Redesignated English Fluent

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

Student reported as English Learner eligible in the previous year is not reported as English Learner eligible in current year or as Redesignated English Fluent.

DETAILS

A student who was reported in the prior school year as English Learner eligible should either be English Learner in the following year OR be Redesignated English Fluent. The error is saying neither of these options have been indicated in the current school year and because the student was reported as English Learner eligible last year, they have to have one of the options indicated this.

FIX

If the student should be marked English Learner this year, send an English Learner eligible indication from your SIS into ADVISER, along with an English Learner program record.

If the student should be marked as Redesignated English Fluent this year, use your SIS to send this indication into ADVISER.

If the student shouldn’t have been marked as English Learner eligible last year, contact the helpdesk at NDE.ServiceDesk@nebraska.gov.
