546 – Special Education Student Without A Special Education Exit Date Who Does Not Appear In Following School Year

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTON

A student with a Special Education Program record in the previous year (not exited from Special Education in the previous year), does not have a Special Education Program record reported in the current year.

DETAILS

A student reported as enrolled in the previous school year and receiving Special Education services has not been exited from Special Education in either the previous or current school year.

FIX

If the student has graduated, please contact the NDE Service Desk for additional guidance at NDE.ServiceDesk@Nebraska.gov

If the student continues to receive Special Education services in the current school year, create a Special Education record in your SIS or SRS and submit it to ADVISER.

If the student should have been exited from Special Education in the previous school year but was not, create a new Special Education record in the current school year with a start date prior to the beginning of the school year. For instance, some districts use a July 1 start date and a July 2 exit date for Special Education records.
