413 – Special Education Student Existing With School Enrollment Record “Transfer Out” Needs Valid Education Exit Record

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

The student enrollment record for the student has a Exit Withdrawal Type of “Transferred To Another School District”, but no supporting Special Education Reason Exited has been reported in their Special Education record. Please correct the student’s Special Education Program record or student enrollment record. Refer to the ADVISER Data Elements – Special Education Program Reason Exited for more information.

DETAILS

The student’s enrollment record indicates the reason for exit as “Transferred to Another School District,” but the Special Education record lacks a corresponding Reason Exited. When a student exits the district, the enrollment Exit Withdrawal Type codes must align with the appropriate Special Education Reason Exited codes.

Note: The student enrollment Exit Withdrawal Type and Special Education Reason Exited codes chart can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website

FIX

If the student is transferring to another school district, update the Reason Exited on the Special Education record to one of the following options: “SPED01” (Transfer to another school district) or “SPED11” (Transferred to another school district – Moved known to be continuing) in the SIS or SRS, and then submit the data to ADVISER.

If the student is still attending school and receiving Special Education services, remove the Exit Withdrawal Type from the student enrollment record in the SIS, and then submit the updated information to ADVISER.
