440 – Invalid Expected Graduation Year for a Student in 9th Grade

Article Contents

ERROR

The Expected Graduation Year for a student in grade nine is greater than the calculation based on the cohort four-year graduation rate. To fix, update the student’s 9th Grade Student record expected graduation date. Please note any updating completed for these students may not occur until the next day.

DETAILS

The Cohort four-year graduation rate is calculated four years from the year the student entered Ninth grade for the first time. For example, if a student is a first time 9th grader in 2017-2018, the student’s cohort is 2021 (2017 +4).
Normally the Expected Graduation Year and the Cohort Year are the same but if the student’s expected graduation year has a changed, this WILL NOT CHANGE THE COHORT for the student.

FIX

Adjust the expected graduation year for the student in your SIS and send the updated data into ADVISER. If the student isn’t in the correct grade level (and is not actually in 9th grade), adjust the grade level in your SIS and send that updated data into ADVISER.
