762 – Unilateral Removal Reported for Student Not In Special Education

ERROR DESCRIPTION

A Discipline Action record indicating a student was Unilaterally Removed from a classroom was published for a student that is not in Special Education. Please upload the missing Special Education Program record or update the Unilateral Removal code.

DETAILS

Unilateral Removal refers to a student being placed in an interim alternative educational setting by school administration or a state-level hearing officer. An Unilateral Removal is only applicable to Special Education students.

Note: The Unilateral Removal details can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website.

FIX

If the student is receiving Special Education services and moved to an interim alternative educational setting, ensure a Special Education record in SRS or the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.

If the student is receiving Special Education services was not moved to an interim alternative educational setting, remove the Unilateral Removal from the Discipline Action record in the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.

If the student is not receiving Special Education services, remove the Unilateral Removal from the Discipline Action record in the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
