ERROR DESCRIPTION
A Discipline Action record that indicates a student was unilaterally removed from the classroom but does not have an expected behavior associated to it. To be unilaterally removed, the student in this incident is expected to be reported with a Behavior Code of 101 (Drugs, Excluding Tobacco), or 104 (Weapons Possession), or any behavior that indicates the student caused Serious Bodily Injury. Please update the Student Discipline Incident Association record to correct.
DETAILS
Unilateral Removal refers to a student being placed in an interim alternative educational setting by school administration or a state-level hearing officer. A Unilateral Removal is only applicable to Special Education students. Specific Behavior codes must be used to accurately reflect the reason for the unilateral removal. If the student has caused bodily injury that involves a substantial risk of death; extreme physical pain; protracted or obvious disfigurement; or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member, organ or faculty y (18 U.S.C. Section 1365(3)(h), the “Serious Bodily Injury” will need to be reported.

FIX
If the student is receiving Special Education services and moved to an interim alternative educational setting, update the Discipline Action record in the SIS with one of the appropriate codes and submit the updated information to ADVISER.

If the student is receiving Special Education services was not moved to an interim alternative educational setting, remove the Unilateral Removal from the Discipline Action record in the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
If the student is not receiving Special Education services, remove the Unilateral Removal from the Discipline Action record in the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
