Access to NDE Portal
Welcome to all new superintendents! We are excited to have you join our educational leadership community and look forward to the innovation, dedication, and vision you bring to your districts. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and streamline access to essential resources, we are transitioning from the Legacy NDE Portal to the new and improved NDE Portal. This updated platform offers a more intuitive interface, improved navigation, and enhanced tools to support your work more efficiently. Welcome aboard—we’re here to support you every step of the way!
Legacy NDE Portal
To access your account on the Legacy NDE Portal, you must log in using your Login ID and password. Each account is intended for individual use. If you previously had an account associated with another school, you’ll need to remove that school’s collections from your current NDE Portal account. If you haven’t created an account yet, please register before continuing with the steps below.
- Select the “Legacy Portal” on the NDE Portal website
- Login into your Legacy NDE Portal account using your Login ID and password.
- Click on the “My Profile” tab
- Enter the activation code received from the NDE Service Desk in the District Activation Code section toward the bottom of the page
- Click on the blue “Add“ link
- Click on the “Update“ button
- Sign out of your Legacy NDE Portal account in the upper right corner
This will generate an email to NDE Service Desk to approve. Once your request has been approved you will receive an email back from NDE Service Desk.
The next time you login to the Portal, you will have access to the “District Admin” tab. You will find the activation codes for the different data collections to assign to yourself or other staff within your district under this tab.
Please review the ‘District Administrator Responsibilities’ located in the “Help” tab topic #3 in your Legacy NDE Portal account. The document will assist you with the adding and/or removing of activation codes.
New NDE Portal

- Enter your district credentials *If you have questions, please contact your district tech department
- Upon successful log in you will see the “Home” page of your New NDE Portal account. In the top corner, should be a blue circle with your initials and a box with your district’s name.
