455 – PK Grade Students Are Not Reported With Either Early Childhood Program or Special Education Program

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

Prekindergarten grade level students have been reported that are in neither an Early Childhood program nor a Special Education program.

DETAILS

Students reported into ADVISER, who are below Kindergarten grade level, are typically either enrolled in an approved NDE Early Childhood program or they are receiving Special Education services. Sometimes it is both! Accordingly, if reporting a student at the PK grade level, one (or both) of these program records must be reported as well,

FIX

If the student is enrolled in an approved NDE Early Childhood program, report an Early Childhood program record into ADVISER. This update is made in your SIS. A list of approved NDE Early Childhood programs can be found here.

If the student is receiving Special Education services, send a SPED record into ADVISER for the current school year. This update will likely be made from SRS, or could come from your SIS, depending on which system your district uses to report SPED data to the state.

Contact Early Childhood or Special Education if you have questions as to which program the student should be included in.
