509 – Public School Students Enrolled in Grades K-12 in a School With a Schoolwide Program Cannot Be Receiving Title I Targeted Services

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTON

A student enrolled in a public school with a schoolwide Title I program cannot be receiving targeted services, unless they are enrolled in a nonpublic school and receiving services in the public school or enrolled in grade PK.

DETAILS

The Title I Program should only include nonpublic students who received Title I services from a public school district at any time during the school year; students who received services in Title I Targeted Assistance Schools during the school year; or students served by Title I-funded Early Childhood services (not part of a schoolwide project) at any time during the school year.

Students served in Title I Schoolwide programs are not reported individually in ADVISER. Please visit the Title I Schoolwide Resources website for the Title I Schoolwide Projects for the current school year.

Note: Detailed information on reporting Title I Program information can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website.

FIX

If the student is enrolled in a Title I Schoolwide district school building, remove the Title I Part A Program record from the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.

If the student is enrolled at a nonpublic school and receiving Title I services, update the “Title I A Participant” code in the Title I Part A Program record in the SIS to reflect the student’s enrollment at a nonpublic school, and submit the updated information to ADVISER
