751 – Absence Reported For Student With No Days In Session

Article Contents

ERROR

A school absence event was reported for a student who has 0 calendar days in session. Please verify if this student’s absence and calendar data is correct. Note that a student with 0 days in session is not included in ADM/ADA or Chronic Absenteeism calculations.

DETAILS

An absence was reported for a student who has no days in session. Students reported without any days in session (or instructional days) will not be counted toward a district’s ADA or ADM. Since it’s not likely the student is meant to be reported in ADVISER without any days in session, this means the issue is probably related to a calendar or a calendar’s days in session.

FIX

To fix the problem, go to your SIS and view both the calendar associated with the student and it’s instructional days. Potential issues include: the student isn’t associated to a calendar with instructional days, or maybe the student isn’t associated to a calendar at all. Update the information in your SIS and then send it into ADVISER.
By updating the calendar, it ensures the absence record can be associated to a day in session, a student has the proper calendar assigned to their account and any absences reported will be accounted for in Membership/Attendance calculations (including Chronic Absenteeism).
