Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

The Special Education Reason Exited given is not an appropriate code for a student who is in a Part C (age birth to three) Special Education Setting but no supporting Special Education Setting has been reported. Please correct the student’s Special Education program record.

DETAILS

The student has exited from Special Education services in the IDEA Part C (Birth to three years old) with a Reason Exited is inappropriate for the Special Education Setting. If the student is exiting from Special Education services, there are very specific Special Education Setting codes to coordinate with the Special Education Reason Exited codes

Note: The Special Education Reason Exited and Special Education Setting codes can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website

FIX

If the student is exiting Special Education services in IDEA Part C and the Special Education Setting is correct, update the Reason Exited to an appropriate code for the IDEA Part C in the SIS or SRS for the student and then sent into ADVISER.

If the student is exiting Special Education services and the Special Education Setting is incorrect, update the Special Education Setting for the student in the SIS and then sent into ADVISER.

If the student is still receiving Special Education services, the Reason Exited in the Special Education record in the SIS or SRS needs to removed and then sent into ADVISER.
