Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

A Special Education Program record was reported for a student with a Service code not appropriate for Special Education. Please update the Special Education record to remove the invalid Service code and to replace it with a valid code (for example: 2 – Physical Therapy) if necessary.

DETAILS

The Service code is the therapy services the student is receiving through their IEP plan. The Service code(s) are only applicable when the student is receiving therapy services. The student can also have more than one Service code reported at a time. The error is stating the student is being reported with an invalid Service Code.

Note: The Special Education Service codes can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website

FIX

If the student is receiving Special Education therapy services, verify and update the Service code(s) to valid codes in the Special Education record in the SIS or SRS, then submit the updated information to ADVISER.

If the student is not receiving therapy services, remove the invalid Service code(s) and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
