Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

The Special Education Setting field in a SPED program record cannot be blank. Please correct this in your SPED data system.

DETAILS

The student’s Special Education Setting code is missing for a student receiving Special Education services. If the student is receiving Special Education services, specific Special Education Setting codes must be used to correspond with the appropriate Special Education programs (IDEA Part C & Part B).

Note: The Special Education Setting codes can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website

FIX

If the student is receiving Special Education services under IDEA Part C, enter the Special Education Setting code to the appropriate code in the SIS or SRS and submit it to ADVISER.

If the student is receiving Special Education services under IDEA Part B, enter the Special Education Program code to the appropriate code in the SIS or SRS and submit it to ADVISER.

If the student is no longer receiving Special Education services, the Special Education record must include an End Date and Reason Exited, along with the appropriate codes for the Special Education Setting in the SIS or SRS, and then submitted to ADVISER.
