807-Special Education Student Exiting With School Enrollment Record “Withdrawal From Mandatory Attendance” Needs Valid Special Education Exit Record

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

Special Education Student has exited with a School Enrollment Record of 209 “Withdrawal From Mandatory Attendance”. A Special Education Record will need to be reported for this student with a Reason Exited of SPED07.

DETAILS

The student enrollment record indicates that the reason for exit is “209” (Withdrawal From Mandatory Attendance), but the Special Education record does not reflect a corresponding Reason Exited. If the student is exiting the district, it is important to use specific student enrollment Exit Withdrawal Type codes that align with the Special Education Reason Exited codes.

Note: The student enrollment Exit Withdrawal Type and Special Education Reason Exited codes chart can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website.

FIX

If the student has withdrawn from the district, then the Reason Exited on the Special Education record needs to be changed to “SPED07” (Dropped Out) in the SIS or SRS and then sent into ADVISER.

If the student is still attending school and receiving Special Education services, the Exit Withdrawal Type in the student enrollment record in the SIS needs to be removed and then sent into ADVISER.
