811-Student With an Exit Withdraw Type of 212 “Completer No Diploma” Without a Special Education Program Record

Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

Student With an Exit Withdraw Type of 212 “Completer No Diploma” is not reported with a special education program record. Either the student’s exit was reported incorrectly, or the student must be reported with a Special Education program.

DETAILS

If a student is reported with an enrollment “Exit Withdrawal Type” of “212” (Completer No Diploma), a Special Education Program record must be included in ADVISER.

Note: Exit Withdrawal Type definitions can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website.

For specific guidance for Special Education students who are no longer receiving services, refer to the 2024 Statements on SPED (SOS) titled, “What are the secondary school scenarios that do and do not end special education eligibility for a student with an IEP in Nebraska? How should districts report a student with an IEP under these different scenarios in ADVISER?”.

FIX

If a student is no longer receiving Special Education services and has received a certificate of attendance from the district, a Special Education Program record must be entered into the SIS and submitted to ADVISER.

If the student has received a high school diploma from the district, update the enrollment “Exit Withdrawal Type” to “210” (Completer: Graduated with a Regular or Advanced Diploma) in the SIS and submit it to ADVISER.

If the student has not received Special Education services and is leaving the district, update the enrollment “Exit Withdrawal Type” to the most appropriate code for the student in the SIS enrollment record and submit it to ADVISER.
