ERROR DESCRIPTION
Children who are age 4 or older after 8/31 should not be reported with a Special Education Part C Program at any point in this school year. Please correct the Special Education Program to ensure it reflects the appropriate services and setting for the child’s age, or verify the student’s birth date is correct in the ADVISER Person ID system.
DETAILS
As of August 31st of the current school year, the student is four years old or older. Therefore, the student must be reported under “05” (IDEA Part B) for the “Special Education Program” element in the Special Education Program record.
Note: Special Education Program definitions can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website.
FIX
If the student is four years old or older on or before August 31st, update the Special Education Program to “05” (IDEA Part B) in the Special Education Program record in SRS or the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
If the student is four years old after August 30th or younger, verify the date of birth in ADVISER Person ID.
If the student’s date is incorrect, complete the following in ADVISER Person ID:
- In the student’s information screen, click on the blue “Edit Student” link
- Update the date of birth for the student
- Click the “Update Student” button
The update in ADVISER Person ID will be synced with ADVISER Validation in an overnight process. Verify the update in ADVISER the following day.
