An absence record was reported for a student with an Attendance Event Category code of 06 “Excused Absence – Disciplinary action, not receiving instruction”, but the student does not have any discipline incidents reported that include a Discipline code of either 03 “Out Of School Suspension”, 04 “Expulsion”, or 05 “Expulsion With Services”. Please verify if the reported absence data is correct, or report the related discipline incident to ADVISER.
DETAILS
An absence record has been reported for a student with an Attendance Event Category code 06 – Excused Absence: Disciplinary Action (Not Receiving Instruction). However, the student does not have any discipline incidents reported with one of the following Discipline codes:
- 03 “Out Of School Suspension”
- 04 “Expulsion”
- 05 “Expulsion With Services”
This discrepancy indicates that the student is being reported with an absence due to disciplinary action, but no corresponding disciplinary incident exists in ADVISER.

FIX
If the absence was not due to a suspension or expulsion, update the attendance to the correct code in the SIS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
If the absence was the result of a disciplinary action, report the related discipline incident in the SIS, ensuring the appropriate Discipline code (03, 04, or 05) is included, and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
