What Is the New NDE Portal?

The New NDE Portal is the modernized replacement for the Legacy NDE Portal. It provides secure access to Nebraska Department of Education applications and data systems using updated authentication methods and streamlined access controls.

The New NDE Portal is gradually replacing the Legacy NDE Portal as applications continue transitioning into the updated platform.

Key Features of the New NDE Portal

• Single Sign-On (SSO) for most public districts and ESUs
• No activation codes needed
• Users may request access directly through the portal
• District Administrators approve access using updated admin tools
• Modern interface designed for scalability and easier navigation

When to Use the New NDE Portal

Use the New NDE Portal when:

• Your application has migrated to the new system
• You were instructed by NDE or your district to use the new platform

Available Sign‑In Methods

The New NDE Portal uses multiple sign‑in options depending on district configuration:

1. Nebraska Cloud SSO (Default)
   • Select your school system from the list on the sign‑in page.
2. Alternative Sign‑In Options
   • For districts not listed, the alternative login link reveals additional options:
     • Microsoft SSO
     • Google SSO
     • Email + Password (Traditional Login)
   • These options appear after selecting “If your District/System is not listed…here”.
