Article Contents

ERROR DESCRIPTION

There is no Reason Exited or End Date reported for this student. By the end of the school year, the student will be 22 years old and should be exited from the Special Education Program.

DETAILS

Students who turn 21 during the school year remain eligible for educational services until the end of the school year (June 30th). If a student will be 22 years old by the end of the school year, the Special Education record must include a Reason Exited and an End Date.

Note: The definitions of “Exit Withdraw Type” can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements for the appropriate school year on the ADVISER Resource website.

FIX

If the student will be 22 years old by the end of the school year (June 30th), verify that the Special Education record includes a Reason Exited and an End Date in the SIS or SRS, then submit the updated information to ADVISER.

If the student is younger than 21 years old, verify the date of birth in ADVISER Person ID.

If the student’s date of birth is incorrect, complete the following in ADVISER Person ID:

  • In the student’s information screen, click on the blue “Edit Student” link
  • Update the date of birth for the student
  • Click the “Update Student” button

The update in ADVISER Person ID will be synced with ADVISER Validation in an overnight process. Verify the update in ADVISER the following day.
