ERROR DESCRIPTION
Student is age 2 or less and should have a Setting Code valid for a student who is Part C. The student’s age is figured as of their SPED exit date (if available), or as of the last day of school (if the student is not confirmed to be receiving services during the summer), or otherwise as of today’s date.
DETAILS
The Special Education Program IDEA Part C is for students age two or younger. The student’s age is calculated one of the following ways:
- Today’s date
- Last day of school
- The Special Education Exit Date
There are very specific Special Education Setting codes to coordinate with the Special Education programs (IDEA Part C & Part B).
Note: The Special Education Setting codes can be found in the ADVISER Data Elements guide for the appropriate school year in the ADVISER Resource website.
FIX
If the student is two years old or younger, update the Special Education Setting code to the appropriate IDEA Part C code in the SIS or SRS and submit the updated information to ADVISER.
If the student is three years or older, verify the date of birth in ADVISER Person ID.
If the student’s date is incorrect, complete the following in ADVISER Person ID:
- In the student’s information screen, click on the blue “Edit Student” link
- Update the date of birth for the student
- Click the “Update Student” button
The update in ADVISER Person ID will be synced with ADVISER Validation in an overnight process. Verify the update in ADVISER the following day.
